Tekion's new micro power source integrates a Formira™ fuel cell with a rechargeable battery.  The battery provides power to the electronic device (e.g. satellite phones) and the fuel cell provides the energy required to recharge the battery in order to meet the expected product run time. Both components are needed to meet the customers' expectations. Tekion is establishing relationships with a number of major portable electronics original equipment manufacturers (OEMs). Together with these OEMs, we have identified high power portable communications devices as the first products to be equipped with Tekion's new micro power source. These devices are in markets that have both the need for power within the device that current battery technologies alone cannot meet and the power characteristics that Tekion believes it can provide. These OEMs are market leaders, have competitive product offerings for commercial, government and industrial customers and an extensive distribution network with long-term customer relationships.
